Ter liberdade é viver sem medo
É viver livre do medo
Sem medo de decidir
Sem medo de errar
Sem medo de sofrer
Ser-se livre é acreditar que vale a pena
A liberdade é a possibilidade de escolher
Escolher sem pressões, sem a aprovação condicional dos outros
É assumir a responsabilidade
Todas as consequências
E se “escolhermos mal”, algo que nos faça sofrer,
Não será mal escolhido, porque também no sofrimento

A chama da aprendizagem!
Ser livre é aceitar o devir

"YES, We Can!"

"What a day, what an incredible day to remember! Whether you're a Democrat, a Republican, an Independent, White, Black, Latino, Native American, Straight, Gay, Christian, Muslim, Jew, a mix of everything or something else, you will probably agree with me: November 4th 2008 was an extraordinary day which will certainly be remembered for a long time. One day, there will be people telling their kids and grand-kids: "I was there and I saw it with my own eyes: November 4, 2008 was the day Barrack Obama became President of the United States of America! Being in France at the moment (I lived in America for seven years), I watched CNN all night, I waited until 5am Paris time for the polls to close on the West Coast to hear the result; then I listened to Senator John McCain's remarkable speech at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix, AZ and then of course, I waited impatiently to listen to President OBAMA's speech in Chicago! A wonderful piece of American History in my humble opinion, what a momentum!! What a day... what a day for America and her people, what a day to remember... We all perfectly know that President OBAMA will face daunting challenges, with two wars and the economy in shambles; let's pray for the very best of course and that he will be able to deliver all or most of his promises. Now is the time to transcend all the differences that are dividing us and are throwing the world out of balance, be it difference of opinions, beliefs, faith ... now is the time to focus on everything we have in common, our dream of a better world, a world with more justice, more happiness for the largest possible number of people around the world. Let's unite and work together hand in hand, now is the time... O desencanto

Crónica “O contador de histórias” por João Aguiar “…um Abominável Homem das Neves. Que chora duas grossas lágrimas. …antes disso tenho que explicar que estou a escrever em plena crise financeira mundial, because Estados Unidos e capitalismo selvagem correlativo. …Ora bem, sucede que esta crise, extremamente irritante para não dizer mais, me leva a outras reflexões … esta crise, muito antes de ser financeira e económica, é mental e ética. Muito certamente, ela não teria acontecido se na sociedade contemporânea houvesse valores éticos e o pensamento dominante fosse outro. Retenham, por favor, esta ideia para avançarmos na direcção do nosso simpático e abominável homem das neves. O Yeti é, aqui, um símbolo. E chora porque o pessoal deixou de acreditar nele. Ao longo de gerações, tiveram-no como um animal simiesco e monstruoso, habitante dos recantos gelados dos Himalaias… Com tanto mistério em seu redor, acabou por tornar-se um abominável simpático. Porém, as expedições científicas e o turismo de grandes alturas, para além de encherem as encostas nevadas com latas de coca-cola, cerveja e outros detritos vários, trouxeram a descrença. Nenhum dado minimamente fiável foi encontrado até à data. Para um Yeti que seja consciente e responsável, esta cessação de existência justifica, naturalmente, todas as lágrimas… O pior é que não só: o abominável não é a única vítima. Hoje, nada é sagrado… …Um autor francês, Marcel Gauchet, publicou recentemente um livro de reflexão histórica chamado Le désenchantement du monde. ….aqui, vou ficar-me pelo título, que contém uma ambiguidade: “désenchantement” pode significar “desencantamento”, no sentido de quebra de feitiço (o sentido que o autor lhe dá), mas também pode significar desencanto, no sentido de desilusão, de perda. Portanto, em vez de falar de desencantamento do mundo – que para Gauchet, é a libertação, a emancipação do homem em relação à natureza e às suas próprias superstições – eu falo, aqui, de desencanto do mundo. …e um tal desencanto é perigoso, porque nos afasta de tudo quanto seja sagrado, ou melhor, neste caso: de tudo quanto seja digno de respeito. O nosso próximo, o ambiente, a paisagem, o planeta. No momento presente, repito, nada é sagrado. Menos que tudo, a honra – e por isso a crise, porque os manipuladores da economia não se preocupam com a honestidade nem com o mal que possam fazer aos outros; menos que tudo, o ambiente a paisagem, o património. Menos que tudo – tudo. Porque “tudo” só serve para levar ao lucro, não importa a que preço.
